During the last week of February new cabinets are going into a portion of our kitchen. Several individuals are coming alongside KA Design who is donating custom made cabinets. You won't beleive the difference.

Very soon a portion of our kitchen will have an awesome new look as we have a new set of base cabinets and uppers being built and donated. We are so thankful for the various ways in which people express themselves in service to our Lord and to this fellowship.

Crossroads is not actively working on any building projects. So far we have done work without going in debt, and this is how we intend to proceed on the next projects. Therefore, until funds are available niether the kitchen or the lobby will be tackled. More importantly, we are encouraging individuals to consider the greater general funds needs of the church over any specific designated giving such as a building project.

We're into July and most of the work on the recent remodel and reconfiguration of our children's rooms is done with only a few small details left. The air conditioning needs to be finished at the rear of the church. The next project on the table is the kitchen, but it will take quite a bit of money before anything will be started. The work done so far has been completed with monies we had in the bank, and we will do the next project in a similar manner. Of particular concern is that we do not allocate new funds for building when we are not meeting our ongoing weekly needs.

On June 8th we will be emptying the nurseries and the preschool room in order to begin their realignment. If you can help on that day please contact Joe Burgess or Carl Faust. Then we will have nearly two weeks to do all of the work before moving things back in on the 19th and 20th.
We also need help with the library move.

Since the completion of the landscaping out front and the widening of the hallway we have continued to move forward with improvements around the church. Last week the elders approved moving forward with the next phases of making our facilities better suited for ministry. The first part of this, for which the funds are in the bank, is the rearranging of the nurseries and the preschool into a logical progression down the hall while making each room larger and more useable. Along with this will be the recarpeting of the building on the classroom side of the lobby double doors. This does not include the offices, at least at this time.
In order to accomplish this we will first move the library out the the building formerly known as Java Joe's. It will be complete with an awning stating to all what the contents of the room are all about - library.
In addition, the ducting under the church is being replaced and the rear of the property is being tied into the new meter for city supplied irrigaiton water and sprinklers are also being installed. No more fuzzy brown and green concrete during the summer. Hooray!!
Also approved, but not yet ready to move forward on are the remodeling and upgrading of our kitchen and the expansion of the lobby. We have estimates on both with the kitchen at about $40,000 and the lobby at $80,000. While the building committee has made some preliminary drawings of what the kitchen might look like, nothing is final and no formal committee has been formed to settle on its final configuration.
All of this was presented at the annual business meeting yesterday, April 19th.
Not wasting any time, as I pulled into the church this morning All American City Landscaping was busy at work on the irrigation.

All American City Landscaping has completed its work out front, and it looks GREAT!! We will get the fornt parking lot re-striped soon, and then when the weather warms it will be recoated and striped. A bicycle ack is on order for outside the church office. When this is installed it should satisfy the city's requirements for outside improvements, opening the door for those we desired to make inside.
Inside we are enjoying a wider hallway and access to the Fellowship Hall (room 13). There are still more things on the table that have to be worked up, planned out and then brought forward for approval.

All American Landscaping began work this week out front and our hallway has been widened inside. People have been busy and you can really see the results.

We didn't get the parking lot asphalt done yet, but you won't have to look hard inside the building to see that there has been a lot going on. No more do you have to walk through a classroom to get to the kitchen, and no more is there going to be a bottleneck in the hallway trying to get in and out of room 13 (Fellowship Hall). This is only the tip of things. Take a moment and take a look around.
